It starts with the Arab Slave Trade, or the Islamic Slave Trade. The African continent was dominated by Arab-Berbers in the north; Islam spread southwards along the Nile and through the Sahara. Thus began at least ten centuries of slavery for the benefit of the Muslim countries.
